How To Help

It’s time to take a stand for your Indiana public schools. For the last several years various groups, teachers, school board association, school administrators associations, superintendent’s association, and retired superintendents have all lobbied and testified before your governor and members of the state legislature with little to show for their sincere efforts. The money that flows toward state government elected officials to “buy support for non public schools” is too great. I believe it’s time for citizens who believe in strong, adequately funded public schools to make our voices heard. I estimate 4 to 5 minutes each for Governor Holcomb’s office, then leave a message for your State Senator and your State House of Representative member. The question is “is having quality public schools in your community worth 12 to 15 minutes of your time”. I hope so.

Interested? Let’s get started!

Governor Holcomb’s office number is 317-232-4567.

If you prefer a letter:

Governor Eric Holcomb
Office of the Governor
Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-2797

If you call, it might start out like this, “My name is ______ _______, I’m a voter from ________ Indiana and I’m calling to support increased funding for all Indiana public schools, not a 2% average that has been proposed” If you want to refer to the $2 billion rainy day fund or voice support for 3% for all public school corporations, I wouldn’t disagree. I don’t think this is going to take you 5 minutes. Suggestion, put the governor’s contact information in your cell phone and share it at work and with friend’s.

Are you not sure who you should be reaching out to?

We can help you out here!

If it felt good, call again in a couple of days and be sure to encourage your friends, neighbors and co-workers to call. My goal is simply, inform my fellow Hoosiers about the plight of funding of public schools and create an army of advocates to support public schools in the great state of Indiana.

Thank you for your time and willingness to take a stand for Indiana's educated future.
